Ahh, the sights and smells of a new year. For me, there are just some things that you can always count on every year, and for me, Turbulencia is one of them. It was the first conference I was exposed to in Slovakia, and I have seen how it has grown and changed and transformed.
One thing that I can point out is from Turbulencia many years ago, was a team from Denmark. I hadn't been in Slovakia very long at that time, so I understood probably...40-50% of what I was hearing. The team from Denmark had no one to translate for them, and when they heard me "translating" for another couple, they crowded around me on the floor. I told them, look, I don't understand everything... I just felt bad. Better 40% than 0%.
Well, today we kicked off Turbulencia 010 and instead of translating 40% to Danes sitting on the floor... I translated 95% to Slovenes and Americans, using modern technology - translation headsets and a microphone for me! Oh, how times have changed!
Turbulencia is also now just the youth night, the other part, for the larger church family is now called Inspirio. At any rate, we are looking forward to tomorrow. This is one opportunity for everyone from our church network to get together and rejoice together with what God is doing in our different cities. People will be coming in on Sat and Sun for fellowship and prayer from Sala, Nitra, Nove Zamky, Zlate Moravce and others.
Pray for us, as we expect around 300 people to be attending.
